Marketing: the art of selling your own writing

A few years ago I read somewhere that if you want to become an expert in something, you have to learn about it or do it for at least a thousand hours. I sat down and made a list of things I wanted to learn about. Marketing was on that list. (I added it to my ‘level up’ quests.)
